Today, we focus on reading the height of the ball over the net and consider it’s effect on the depth and height of the bounce. Judy shows 1 racquet height over the net, and then, two and three racquet heights over the net. Cos identifies the different levels of contact when she strikes the ball. One is at knee, two is at the hip and three is at the shoulder. If you read the height of the oncoming shot, you will get a clue as to the depth of the shot and height of the bounce. This will help with anticipation and allow you to adjust your steps sooner.
If you don’t have a partner, try throwing or hitting the ball against a wall. Identify what your contact point level after catching or hitting the ball.
