USTA NJD District Championship Update

Every Point Counts!

“Every point Counts” is the official motto of Fed Cup, and today, like so many Fridays, the team totals reflected just how important one point was.  Team names were themes of the US Open (which starts on Monday).  Congratulations to the Billie Jean Kings (228), Queens (227), Ashes (212) and Melon Balls (200).

Laundry Day for Monday Match Play

Clothespins on a tennis court?  Participants in the Monday match play were awarded clothespins which represented free points to be used at their discretion.   This system is modeled after TenCap, where handicaps are used to make tennis matches more competitive.  Lots of fun, mental toughness and strategy.

Bittersweet Day for Denmark at Fed Cup
